What We Do
GLOUCESTERSHIRE BRANCH
National Level

The National Executive Committee (NEC) comprised of  16 elected members from the eight Regional police areas of England & Wales has its Headquarters at Wakefield West Yorkshire . There the Ex -Officio full time Chief Executive Officer, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Finance Controller and three Administrative staff manage the requirements of all 760000+ members supporting the 112 Branches with a computerised national database and the National Web Site as well as producing and circulating a quarterly magazine to all members. In addition the NEC HQ provides a National point of contact for a wide ranging compendium of other services to members and Branch Executive Committees.
Following the Association’s Mission statement particular attention is given to influence pension issues in both Police Pensions and  State Retirement Pensions.
The NEC keeps itself in date with political issues and trends and frequently makes its voice heard on relevant matters to both the Government and opposition.
Welfare Support

The Branch Welfare Convener and Executive Committee offer individual support when requested and have access to the wealth of information available at the National Headquarters  as well as having links with local support agencies to whom, when necessary  we can refer our members. 2 members of the Branch Executive Committee are members of the Executive Committee of the Gloucestershire Constabulary Benevolent where members of the funds applications made under the Funds rules are considered.
Social Events

The Social Secretary and Executive committee work hard throughout the year to provide social and charity events in support of the yearly designated Branch Charity. It is hoped to increase these. At present functions include -
Branch Luncheon & Annual General Meeting
Monthly Coffee Mornings
Bring and Buy
Annual Charity Draw
Christmas Carol Service

Branch Information Systems

Quarterly Newsletters are published and mailed to members which include local news, detail of social events and items of interest.
E-Mail Circulation is available to those members who supply their address to our E-mail master. The increasing use of this  facility and the information in the members section of this web site allows those in receipt to pass on information especially, news concerning members to those who are not on the Internet.
